This package contains the following four After Dark modules: Blank, SnowBall, SnowBall2 and Pipe. My permission is granted to distribute these modules as a stand alone package as is. They are not to be distributed with any other software without my explicit permission. To install these modules drag them into your After Dark files folder. This folder will be in one of two probable locations. Location one is in your Systems’ Preferences folder, the other is your Control Panels Folder. The easiest way to locate this folder if you don’t know its exact location is to select find from your edit menu in the finder and search for “After Dark”. Once the files are located in the After Dark files folder they are accessible by the After Dark control panel.
Blank - The module After Dark forgot. After Dark is a well written program with plenty of fancy modules. What if you just wanted the screen to go black? I read once that there was a guy who complained that that After Dark was too fancy. All he wanted was a screen saver to turn his screen off. He wrote the company and received a complimentary copy of After Dark whose sole ability was to blank the screen.Activate this module the screen blanks to black. If your monitors light wasn’t on you wouldn’t even know it was on. There are no controls to worry about.
SnowBall - Selecting this module produces random white balls onscreen. You can select a ball size from the control panel.
SnowBall 2 - Produces the same effect as SnowBall with the additional control of selecting a ball color. It will also produce random sized balls. There is now wasy to turn off the random balls. If you would like it added leave me feedback and I will add it.
Pipe - Undoubtedly the most visually stimulating of the modules. This module produces a never ending pipe. You have the ability to change the pipe size and color. The smaller the pipe size the faster the pipe builds. At a certain point is decreasing the size of the pipe the program will just put random dots onscreen. So, don’t make the pipe too small!
I’m placing these modules in shareware and asking a measly ten bucks($10.00) for all four modules. I’m not going to lament or beg you for the bucks, nor will the modules quit or lock-up if you don’t pay. I’ve been programming Apples from the Apple 2 days and have watch the destruction of the Apple 2 from flagrant piracy, don’t let this happen to the Mac. A recent article on GEnie about shareware showed that more than 60% of the IBMers paid their shareware fees and that less than 20% of us Mac users did. If this trend continues you’ll continue to see a decline in software for the Mac. After all, programming for windows is just as easy! Just look at most major applications. They started with a Mac version and now produce a Windows version also, and in some instances their Windows version has more features.( eg.
